What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an evidence-based approach designed to help people process and heal from trauma, PTSD, and distressing memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact.

EMDR Can Help With:

✔ PTSD & Trauma Recovery
✔ Anxiety & Panic Disorders
✔ Childhood Trauma
✔ Sexual & Physical Abuse
✔ Phobias & Fear-Based Responses
✔ Grief, Loss, & Emotional Pain

How Does EMDR Work?

A Step-by-Step Process for Healing:

  1. History & Treatment Planning – Understanding your background and therapy goals.
  2. Preparation & Coping Strategies – Building emotional resilience before starting reprocessing.
  3. Bilateral Stimulation & Reprocessing – Using guided eye movements to reprocess trauma.
  4. Desensitization & Healing – Replacing distress with new, positive beliefs.
  5. Closure & Future Planning – Ensuring emotional stability and long-term healing.

About Me

I'd like to share a bit about myself and my approach to therapy to help you decide if we might be a good fit to work together.

I am a lifelong student of the human experience, fascinated by the intricacies of what makes us who we are. Psychology, with its centuries of analyzing human behavior and brain activity, offers valuable insights into the patterns that shape our lives. Yet, the human experience goes beyond behavior—it encompasses heartbreak, loss, change, love, resilience, and everything in between.

While psychology provides a map, true healing and growth require integrating your own inner wisdom. Together, we’ll explore what’s causing you pain or holding you back. Life is full of ups and downs—sometimes it feels effortless, while other times it can be deeply challenging. Each of us navigates these moments through a unique lens shaped by our inner voice.

That inner voice, the essence of who we are, can sometimes feel lost amidst trauma, doubt, anxiety, or anger—and even during moments of triumph, transitions, and dreams realized. My approach to therapy is about rediscovering that inner voice, the one that knows what you want, what feels right, and how to heal. For couples and families, the process involves uncovering the collective voice of the group, helping everyone realign and restore balance.
I specialize in working with adults, couples, and families seeking to reconnect with themselves and each other, and to find a sense of harmony in their lives.

My Approach

I bring a trauma-informed perspective to therapy, combining my academic and professional background with modalities like:
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): For addressing the impact of past trauma and creating space for healing.
  • Somatic Awareness: To help you reconnect with your body and the wisdom it holds.
  • Domestic Violence Advocacy: Supporting those navigating challenging and complex situations.
  • Holistic Integration: Drawing from various therapeutic frameworks to create a personalized experience that resonates with your unique needs.
Whether you’re seeking individual growth, strengthening your relationship, or fostering harmony within your family, my goal is to create a compassionate, supportive space where we can work together to uncover the balance and healing you’re looking for.
