ERIN VALENTE, MA, LMFTWelcome to my practice! A few things about me and how I work, so you can have a better idea if we would make a good fit. I am a student of all things related to the human experience. The study of Psychology is centuries of analyzing, and piecing together what we know about human behavior and brain activity. It strives to understand the human experience. But the human experience is more than our behaviors and patterns. It is the experience of heartbreak, loss, change, love, resilience, and on and on and on. While Psychology can point us in the right direction, we must integrate our wisdom about ourselves to understand what is causing us pain or holding us back.
We are all navigating the ups and downs the best that we can, where at times it may feel effortless and other times a bit more difficult. Each person's experience is seen through the lens that we have created, narrated by our inner voice. Often times that inner voice, the part of us that makes us uniquely ourselves, can get lost when we experience trauma, doubt, anxiety, anger as well as triumph, new chapters, and dreams coming true. My approach to therapy is uncovering that inner voice that guides us towards what we want, what we believe is right, and towards any healing that may need to be done. The same is true for couples and families. We will work to find the collective voice of the unit and bring everyone back into alignment. I work with adults, couples, and families looking to restore balance to their lives. I incorporate my academic and professional background in trauma informed therapy, EMDR, domestic violence, and somatic awareness with different therapy modalities to create a therapy experience that resonates with you. |
